Gerry seemed a bit nervous and I wasn't over enamoured with his voice, but I liked the songs and (when he settled down) the banter was fun. On the whole I rather enjoyed them.

Obviously mad as a box of frogs, but seemed like a good guy behind it. Enjoyed him and his band.

He wasn't nervous , just gets excited. He explained about his illness before one of the songs. Superb songwriter , loved every minute.

Agree, he's slightly off the wall, but we know that - had great band with him and his set was real fun. And he clearly loved us!

Absolutely manic. In some ways, great fun. In other ways, deeply concerning.

Started off a bit Smashey and Nicey to me, but his talent balanced by his obvious human fragility and humility won me over. The house of the setting sun... beautiful.

I walked into the field as he was singing "House of the Setting Sun" and was just completely bowled over by that. Really the most beautiful, moving thing that I have heard for a long time. I wish I had been able to hear the whole set. Twice. Fortunately he seems to play here in the midlands quite often.

I remember being blown away when I saw CQ at Croppers a few years back and them being the highlight of the festival for me.
Enjoyed GC band, thought the musicianship was excellent; they clearly miss Q and it must have been so difficult to regroup, but they've done a sterling job

Agree with all comments so far....GC was a favourite of the festival for me and I even went and bought "6of one and half a dozen of the other" with its quirky 10 tracks

What illness? Is he bipolar? Jules

As a pro-unionist in Scotland there was one song in his set i loved He does have the air of being on the edge, I get nervous just watching but I love his songs.

Gerry was on top form, everything he did was spot on.
So glad he did Feathers as well as One More Week, and yes House if the Setting Sun is stunningly Beautiful, tragic and poignant, it really comes from his heart.
It was as great too to see Marion Fleetwood play with them too.
One of my Festival highlights.

I really enjoyed Colvinquarmby when they played years ago, and also on South Parade Pier. Sadly, without Nick Quarmby now, who had a tribute picture at the end but Gerry was just the same. Just as excited at the fact that we enjoyed it, and with the same clever songs. Paul
