I've been reading up about Jeannie. I had no idea that she was a  cousin of Phil Ochs  a fashion designer and a member of the LA Sunset Strip underground scene. She owned a shop in LA where she sold her handmade clothes. Apparently she started off designing clothes for Paul Revere and the Raiders. Then everyone wanted her Indian theme clothes. Some of her clients were Cream, The Monkees, Cass Elliot, The Raiders, David Crosby, Donovan, Eric Burdon. She was also a  journalist for Tiger Beat magazine. jack bruces solo album songs for a tailor was a tribute to her. here is a copy of an article she wrote.

Thanks for posting that Tasha.
I wonder how she and RT came to meet - Joe Boyd perhaps?

or just around the scene... she hung about with many musicians in fact she took Rolling Stone to task for including her in the  'groupie' issue! She certainly was around the middle earth club a lot.

Nothing, but she's mentioned in "Strange Affair" the RT bio by Patrick Humphries
Also includes a picture, if memory serves

on a sideways note.... reading an old Melody maker article from a week after the crash. this quote stuck with me...

"A press brochure once produced to introduce Fairport contained biographic notes jotted by each member. It had one section headed "Martin Francis Lamble."

Place of birth – St. Johns Wood. Instruments played – violin, drums, recorder. Previous occupation – Child."

I  hadn't taken on board that Martins brother Robin was a drummer too. who played with 70's psychedelic band Byzantium alongside Chas Jankel. He also was Al Stewarts drummer.

Robin was Al's bass player, Steve Chapman, Poco and now Al's Manager, was the drummer.

FWIW, in 1981 Al's 'backing band', Shot in the Dark, released an album on RSO, the single was Playing With Lightning.
There are a number of cuts on YouTube, Robin's second from left on the cover.
Peter White, (in the middle) the keyboard player, went on to become a very successful Smooth Jazz artist. Smiley
