On the up side, this seems to be generating more interest than if the lineup had actually been announced.  Undecided

Peggy’s comment at Tuesday’s gig was ‘be patient’. Apparently they are waiting for signed contracts to be returned. He sounded frustrated.

There's no reason to wait for all the contracts to be signed, just announce those who have.

Doesn't work like that these days, though does it - it's all Headliner led marketing....

But by not announcing anything since the first acts announcement means lower ticket sales doesn’t it? At least until the next announcement and if that fails to excite then the disillusioned may decide not to bother. As you say it’s all to do with marketing which seems to have gone awry short term. Never mind got my ticket so I’ll be there anyway

I actually think the Brasenose are going to get into trouble this year.  That lineup is just too good.  There isn't enough space around the pub to deal with the crowds who will want to see (for instance) Merry Hell.  I don't think.

I agree with m’learned friend. I would suggest that there are more waverers interested in the undercard than in who will be their soundtrack to the queue for the footbridge.

Wickham festival now fully announced. There is normally a cross pollination from there to Croppers. Watch out for Squeeze, Kate Rusby or some bloke who used to be in Dire straits. Sadly Steve Harley headlines Thursday so it wont be him.

There’s something to be said for getting in first.

Robert Plant is on tour in Europe in the late summer, with no plans after August 1.  Just sayin'...

Just spotted that Pierre Moerlen is getting the jazz rock version of Gong back together. And of course, the "real" Gong are active. Nightmare for Jules, great for me, on both counts...

Here's a perspective.
Talking to Lucy (daughter of YaBB). She's been coming to Cropredy for 20 years. There are an awful lot of the potential audience who are in that age group, because that's how Cropredy works. So who would convince them to come along, but would also delight the old folkies?

That would be most interesting given that Pierre croaked back in 2005.  Shocked

Lol.  There is some kind of a French version of the band doing the rounds though, I think...

I thought Pierre was no longer with us. But the recent article was so definite, I thought I must be wrong. Sadly I wasn't.

Back on topic, if Mr Gabriel isn't being booked, and there's a vacant prog slot, Steve Hackett would be most welcome to return.
