Here's a perspective. Talking to Lucy (daughter of YaBB). She's been coming to Cropredy for 20 years. There are an awful lot of the potential audience who are in that age group, because that's how Cropredy works. So who would convince them to come along, but would also delight the old folkies? Paloma Faith For goodness sake!!

Never heard her sing. Emeli Sandé is well regarded, though, and of that ilk.

Alynda Lee Segarra (Hurray for the Riff Raff) or Nadine Shah would keep me on the field in the afternoon.
Try them both. Both folkie but modern and young.
If its someone further up the bill why not Laura Marling or Amy McDonald (who is 30 this year).
To Youth up the bill why not, Cattle and Cain , Patch and the Giant or the Hawthorns, all bands i've really enjoyed last year.
Id also love to see Skinny Lister back.

I think she'll empty the field as successfully as The Divine Comedy. Dull, one-paced, no life whatsoever, no memorable tunes. Skinny Lister are a good shout though for mid-afternoonish, a band that really know how to entertain a festival crowd.

I guess you mean Paloma, not Lucy! Agree btw, not a fan of Paloma. Some of the songs are ok, but it's her "kooky" persona that grates. I'd be happy to see Imelda May at Cropredy, though...

I like Paloma and I like Imelda, Id be happy to see either. Imelda has changed her rockabilly thing though, so it looks as if I missed that opportunity. I'd also be happy with Simple Minds, Del Amitri, Deacon Blue, KT Tunstall - Drastic Fantastic is playing in my car this week - or at this point, anybody at all. I'm a little concerned that the delay might affect ticket sales and, as a knock on affect, kill off the festival. Meanwhile, Ramblin Man Fair have announced the Bender/Fisher line up of Mott The Hoople as headliners with The Cult on the other day.

I’ve often thought that there should be a Mott the Hoople tribute band called Not the Hoople.
