I'm a little concerned that the delay might affect ticket sales and, as a knock on affect, kill off the festival.
My sentiments entirely as I said earlier Surely they wouldn’t let that happen...

Woo-hoo!!! Let’s hope so....the wait has built up the tension and, while it’s been very frustrating, it has increased excitement and expectation levels

Announced at 5pm:
Kate Rusby – Friday 10 August 2018 marks Kate Rusby’s first visit to Cropredy and we welcome BBC Radio 2’s most played (and certainly our most requested) female folk artist. Forever proud to call herself a folk singer, Kate’s beautiful, expressive vocals never fail to connect the emotional heart of a song to that of her audience. The crossover appeal Kate enjoys is unprecedented for a folk singer and has been achieved without resort to compromise.
Oysterband – Thursday 9 August It’s 14 years since the fabulous Oysterband graced the stage at Cropredy and we are delighted to see them back. Embarking on their 5th decade together, Oysterband still play with that spirit of the punk ceilidh band that roared through people’s lives all those years ago. Hopefully it won’t be quite so long until their next visit.
Afro Celt Sound System – Saturday 11 August We are delighted to announce that the stunning Afro Celt Sound System will be making their first appearance at Cropredy this August. Formed by Grammy-nominated musician and record producer Simon Emmerson and with album sales now topping one and a half million, Afro Celt Sound System are a European and African based collective who’ve been a ground-breaking force in music ever since they started. Welcome to Cropredy!
Will Varley – Saturday 11 August We’ve been tracking the steady, and well-deserved, rise to fame of Will Varley for quite some time – our mutual friends Skinny Lister pointed us in his direction! And with a fabulous new album out (his 5th) – “Spirit of Minnie” - plus a great band behind him, now is definitely the time for Will’s first trip to Cropredy. And we’re pretty sure it won’t be his last!
Midnight Skyracer – Friday 10 August Also Cropredy first timers, Midnight Skyracer is a new, all-female 5 piece bluegrass band playing hard driving traditional and modern classics, lesser known songs and finely crafted originals. Featuring an all-star lineup of some of the UK’s top instrumentalists and singers, the band takes inspiration from the likes of other great female artists such as Rhonda Vincent and Alison Krauss. Formed in early 2017, the band managed to squeeze in a mini tour and several festivals over their first summer, the highlight of which was performing to an overflowing Club Tent at Cambridge Folk Festival.
These are in addition to the previously announced artistes -
Levellers - Friday 10 August
Fish - Friday 10 August
Le Vent Du Nord - Saturday 11 August
Al Stewart - Saturday 11 August
Richard Digance - Saturday 11 August
Sam Kelly and The Lost Boys - Saturday 11 August
More to come, apparently.

By my calculation there's 4 slots left to fill. Potentially, Thursday's headliner(s) amongst them.

Saw Afro Celt Sound System at BBC Folk Awards - superb performers, more than happy to see Kate Rusby and Oyster and and there must still be another 5-6 bands yet to be announced...where is the big headliner though?

Patience is a virtue. This is a strong lineup, nevertheless.
