i rather get the feeling that the boat is not being pushed out for this years Cropredy.
Unless an Alice Cooper type megastar is being difficult, it looks to me like the headliners for all 3 nights are done, dusted and already announced

Hope that’s not right...when they announced the Levellers, they said they would be headlining Friday but the next announcement had no mention of who was headlining Thursday although there is an assumption that it will be Oysterband. Good as they are, I’m hoping for a slightly bigger name to add diversity to the line-up

We are approaching March and as I understand it you can’t buy tickets at the present time.

If there are casual attendees I’d hazard a guess they will be looking to buy tickets for other festivals that are currently on sale with the line ups announced.
I hate to say it but we are nearing the point where the main ticket selling slot( the Thursday headliner) will actually need to be stellar to avoid poor sales this year.
Not that I think the acts announced so far are poor, far from it but I do know of two regular attendees who have spent their cash elsewhere this year as they were tempted by another festival instead.

You understand wrong - earlybird tickets are not available now but full price tickets are readily available.

Yeah but Steve’s point is very valid in this day and age. Money’s tight and if you know who you are going to see, you’re more likely to spend your cash for that festival rather than take a punt on a festival where you could end up seeing acts you can’t stand....just saying

But he is wrong to suggest tickets are not available - they are, simples  Wink

Maybe we are getting Van Morrison who has just announced that he and the Waterboys are playing in Bedfordshire on 31 August?

More likely to be JAMES Morrison I’m afraid.

Unlikely to be any of:

Simple Minds / Pretenders or K T Tunstall as they are touring together:

That makes it more likely, unless they actually have a gig on 9th August, because personnel , kit and logistics are already with them..

And, as of yet, its a free night on the "Grand Slam Tour".

Two day tickets aren't, that's not normal is it?

Two day tickets aren't, that's not normal is it?

I know of four people who went on site to buy fri/sat tickets and were stunned to find they couldn’t do so and were more stunned to find out the line up wasn’t finalised.
The tickets were always purchased as a birthday present (15th Feb) but the money has been spent elsewhere now.
They were customers for the last six years and when I asked them about the situation they said having visited the website they were worried that it might not take place this year given they couldn’t buy tickets and only half the line up was announced!!
I hope not too many others have been put off in the same way.
Whatever the situation it can’t be good when customers are having their heads turned and spending money elsewhere....

Really good point about two and one day tickets - I hadn't clocked that so apologies. Maybe this should be flagged up to Fairport towers as it seems a dreadful commercial decision or even just a cock up!!

I’m not going, but I was intrigued by this situation.
If you go on the “pay by cheque” page, as opposed to credit card payments, then there is a form to order 1 and 2 day tickets.

From the Towers:

Hello David

The 1 & 2 day tickets will go on sale once we have announced the complete line up, which will hopefully be very soon.

Best regards

Gareth

But they must make a decision soon whether to hang on for the main event or announce the reserve because they must be losing ticket sales the longer it drags on! There must be a time limit surely Undecided
