It better not be Dumpy..I got to know him a few years ago, and he needed a bassist, I was going to audition but tripped up the stairs and dislocated two fingers, so that was that. I can cope with not being a rusty nut, but not headlining Cropredy ?  Cry  Sad  Angry

But we aren't supposed to be making comments right now - me neither.

The wait is almost over. Website now stating announcement at 5pm today.

Will it be "WOW" enough to see tickets sold out by midnight?  Grin

Roger Daltry

(He has a TCT gig up in the next week and maybe this announcement was held back to encourage punters to buy that gig, rather than Cropredy)

As their farewell gigs are the week after I’m still holding out for Runrig...

However, The Roger Daltry announcements today may be interesting ...

Well, the query I made over on The Who's site hasn't been denied, so who knows.

(Sorry to be pedantic too, but it's Roger Daltrey, with an 'e')

Well, I have gone for The Fratellis in the poll, simply because it would be so typically Cropredy. Lots of speculation, 'Wow' hints, everyone getting very excited, and then in the end a bit of a let down. They have a new album out, are doing other festivals, fit with the Scottish link, and wouldn't be too expensive.

Personally I think they'd be great, but I imagine I'd be in a minority!

Here's Roger Daltrey doing his thing at a recent solo show. It'd be good, wouldn't it?

No I’m with you there....yes the name may disappoint some but as a headliner for Thursday who will send they crowd home singing, I too think they would be great  Smiley

Having watched the clip on YouTube of Mr Daltrey doing Baba O’Reilly last year, he’s now rapidly rising to the top of my list

I've been suggesting Camel for Cropredy for a few years now. Still hoping!

It's more likely than Gentle Giant - Camel are still touring - and are active this summer...GG haven't played together since 1980!

That's accurate, but a bit disingenuous at the same time as Three Friends (who play Gentle Giant music and feature Gentle Giant members) have been out on the circuit in recent years, at least until Gary Green had a nasty heart attack (2015 ish?)

Now I didn't know that - -and it's encouraging.   Cool
