Only caught the back end of Leatherat's set, absolutely stormed it. They are so missed.

Apparently Gareth doesn't like people asking for Merry Hell . I spoke to one regular who had been warned off. Very sad.

So how would we feel about a main stage Saturday with Clarion, Leatherat, Vikki Clayton, Iota, Merry Hell, Leatherat, Spank the Monkey and Fairport?
DW
That would be good, but instead of making Leatherat play twice, bring on Treebeard who played somewhere or other this weekend. And didn't Winter Wilson play somewhere as well?

Very weird. Perhaps they have too much energy? Or maybe his politics don't gel with theirs? I'd love to know...

I am sad about lack of booking Merry Hell. Everyone I spoke to said they would go down a storm on the main stage. We live in hope.

They are not political they believe in humanity, compassion and fair play.

They are not political they believe in humanity, compassion and fair play. All those things are political But no more so than Oysterband or Show of Hands or The Levellers or any number of other acts that have graced the Cropredy stage on multiple occasions so it is hard to believe that is the problem (if indeed there is one).

Merry hell were the best . Never seen them before, but every song was vibrant and had ALL DANCING. .
I would just like to say something though about the fringe.....
It needs better control, which should be the pubs duty, and the village needs to sort this as parking was out of hand. It attracts a lot of casual none fairporters, and will create a problem We the villagers don't need.
The main event as ever is pure class and is brilliantly controlled.

Interesting comment as on the Saturday we thought there was very little traffic compared to previous years in the village. DW

Kaprekar's Constant at The Brasenose and Tree Top Flyers at Field 8 were my stand out fringe performances out of the few I saw at least.

Interesting comment as on the Saturday we thought there was very little traffic compared to previous years in the village. DW Perhaps it depends on Your perspective? I didn't fortunately need to drive out of the village, as I couldn't have. Life in this village carries on as normal during the event, that means anything could occur. The sound system at the brase was excellent, but very loud, there are many elderly and young live here. It simply needs balance and control, a no parking zone for the whole village may be best with passes for residents and their visitors . All who live in Crops are grateful and welcome all as family, but there is a large influx attracted by the fringe who are not as familiar with the workings of the event as the vast majority who wear wrist bands. There are plenty of fields where parking could be arranged and payed for by those not attending the main event, and IMHO the pubs should organise this. Kevin
