Haven;t seen a thread for KR as yet ...
Fantastic voice. But not sure it was a set for the penultimate slot of the evening - more a 5-6pm slot maybe .
But then again maybe it was deliberate to set us up for the levellers' lack of energy?#

Eee, for a Northern lass she didn't half complain about the cold.
Not really to my taste, but I stood at the front and enjoyed it. Another artist that I wouldn't go to see in concert, but at a festival I'm happy to watch.

I thought it was thoroughly beautiful and as expected. Unfortunately being true to herself she sang lovely gentle folk music with no fast and raunchy bits, which seemed to be a signal to several in the audience that they should talk very loudly throughout the set while pretending to listen to her. A tricky one - would she have been better earlier in the day? On the whole I think not, and for that hour and a half I was transfixed despite ths distractions.
BTW they're not gloves, they're mitts.

In agreement with you! I thought she was marvellous. She did complain about the cold going off at one stage to get a cup of tea and her mitts and came back pronouncing “mittens in August! Who’d ‘ave thought” she also donned 2 cardigans during her set as well declaring that “layering” was the way to go. Loved her singing and natural way of talking to her audience

I was on my way to Field 8 when she was on so I can't comment, but I love her dress!

How great was she? Beautiful singing voice and very funny in between bits. Came across as a charming, talented and quirky lass. I'll try and get to see her in a small venue where I can hear her better and where she doesn't have to wear her cardy

First time I’ve seen her live despite being an admirer for many years. Wasn’t disappointed and thought she was superb.

Kate is a lovely, characterful performer. I first saw her performing in a duo with Kathryn Roberts in the early 90's, and have seen her several times since then.
I was at the front barrier for the first part of per set, and her voice, material and band had a remarkable effect on capturing the attention of the crowd around us.
A lovely performance.

A Southerner, I gathered. Certainly enjoyable, and I like her chatting, and her singing, but never find any of the songs all that memorable, unlike, say, Cara Dillon or Kathryn Roberts, who I suppose are in the same ball-park musically.

I enjoyed her too. She was very much herself, and was very natural. Another hit for me.

I think she is an excellent singer, writes good songs, and has a very endearing chat between songs. I do like big brave bill. Paul

Not for me. I’d seen her at Cambridge FF the previous week with the same set. She seems to still be doing what she did many moons ago. Glad others enjoyed her though.

I love Kate. Seen her loads of times and never tire of her performance. She is sweet and natural with a wicked streak and a lovely voice. I too liked her dress and was amused by the number of times she went off and added another layer of clothing.
She and the Afro-Celts were the main attraction for me.
