Hi all,

Does anyone have a definitive list of Fairports available recordings?
I've seen a few on Wikipedia and other sources but they don't seem to be either complete or definitive.

Many thanks

It is a bit of a minefield because so many recordings have been licenced and re-licenced but this one is pretty good.

You are right. I'm sure they used to be on there.

Mainly Norfolk is a great resource, but it does tend to be partial, as I think it depends on records he owns himself.

This is quite full: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairport_Convention_discography.  There may well still be some gaps though, as there are so many re-packaged versions of albums.

That is pretty comprehensive regarding the official catalogue except that it does not include AT2, The Boot, The Other Boot & The Third Leg, some of which were repackaged on Kind Fortune and Quiet Joys of Brotherhood, Journeyman's Grace is a repackaging too but I can't remember of what.

Is the re-licensing the reason Gladys' Leap up to and including Five Seasons are largely unavailable? Not sure how all this works but basically did Woodworm sell the rights to these albums?

I believe so. At one point they were mostly, if not all, reissued by Talking Elephant with horrible sleeve art that bore no resemblance to the originals. Five Seasons (& I think Red & Gold) were not originally released on Woodworm but on a subsidiary of Rough Trade called (if I remember correctly) New Routes.

It's a pity the Musikfolk pages were taken down. A treasure trove for all things Fairport & Cropredy greatly missed.  Embarrassed

Have saved a lot of the discography from there, send pm if I can help with anything. Availanility and reshuffled editions I do not know much about.
