Each to their own of course, but I belive Cropredy should be three days in the country without any country...  Wink

if I got to see him do 'Gearjammer' live, I'd probably pee myself and not be ashamed. (Note to all...NEVER listen to Gearjammer while driving - blue flashing lights in the rear view mirror are almost certain.)

Along with rivers of gold, by the sounds of it.

ELO sounds like a good shout. I’ve always thought that James would be a good Thursday night headliner.

James would really fit with the Cropredy audience as well ... "Oh sit down .. ah, you are already ..."

After much consideration, I'm going for Manic Street Preachers.  They're not the commercial proposition they once were, so they wouldn't cost the earth, and they're not only in it for the money anyway, plus they have a vast back catalogue chock-full of hits and anthems.

Elbow would fit the bill.

They are fantastic live, and all round nice chaps, plus they sell out arenas but don't charge silly prices for tickets so shouldn't break the bank - Less than £40 at the Mcr Arena last year!

They were great at Beautiful Days, even though they didn't play my fave Manics song -"La Tristesse Durera (Scream to a Sigh)"- but they DID play my favourite Cure, song ''In Between Days '' instead so....fair play.

The Cure are touring next year - now that would be interesting.

Having missed out on tickets for the upcoming dates, I'd appreciate Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets.  Smiley

Me too...............oh we're not supposed to do that...…………...

A bit 1980s for you, old chap?   Wink

( someone pedantic could step up and say they were formed in 1976...if some random pedantic person should visit TAW....so I said it for them)

The Cure are great.  But they just sold out Hyde Park!

WATERBOYS!

They appeared on Thurs 7th August 2014...can’t recall if they were headlining.

But J and I  loved it and we stayed down the front for the whole thing, so I am in favour of a return.

Just realised, glancing through,  there’s only about one female or so recommended in this thread.

(Scratches head and tries to think of someone other than the obvious about whom there are always myths!)

Well, yes, always.  Not sure they'd be a festival-saving draw, but yes.

So a quick think about late 70s-early 80s with loads of hits and the audience bouncing and singing factor (and females among them),though I've no ideas what they're all up to these days, so just a wish list really...

Blondie

Elvis has been quite seriously ill, but he seems to still be managing the occasional gig.

Crikey,  I hadn’t read the previous post properly and ‘Galway to Graceland’ was on Dan’s show. I momentarily thought you were a believer that the King was still with us!

I would like to see the Eurythmics. Lots of good stuff from them. I tell you who else I like, Joe Jackson. Does he still tour?

1978 acherley. They celebrated their 50 yrs this year at Hyde Park. I was there!! It was so amazing I’m still amazed.
If they came to Cropredy I would be in heaven.
