The opening paragraph calls him a "confessional artist".  I've always thought of Richard as a man who very rarely writes about himself.

I've been playing guitar for 40 years and I've never heard of any of his amps or effects. I'm a Luddite.

Granted, but I envy folks (such as professional musicians) who have time to play with effects and amps, and develop sounds, etc. I get to play about 10 minutes a day, right before bedtime, and haven't upgraded my equipment since the 1980s.  Wink
