I have had the Byrds set for a few years now and I visit it regularly. The only problem I have with it are some of the bonus tracks added on. Sometimes it is obvious why certain tracks never made it to the original albums. Less can indeed be more!

Those two are definite bargains - haven't got the Jude one, but I bet that's a good one too.

I'm the opposite - I think The Byrds had more gems hidden away in the vaults than most other bands. Jules

Not sure how useful this will be for people here but the first Fairport 5 Classic Albums and the Sandy Denny 5 Classic Albums box sets are £2.99 at HMV.

Thanks for the heads-up. The Sandy set is a tempter. I found her albums a bit "easy listening" in my younger days and haven't heard them since I took them back to the record library circa 1990. Be nice to reassess them. In any event, regardless of whether or not I like everything, I'm certain that, these days, I will find three quid's worth of enjoyment within them!

Maybe this is instore only? They had them both yesterday in their Meadowhall Store, they weren't in the genre section but some shelves which said "Crazy Deals" or something? There was loads of Island stuff for some reason, I posted previously that at the time they had all the Richard & Linda Island stuff for £2.99 and all the Bob Marley back catalogue for the same price.

Not in Reading on Saturday as far as I could see, though did pick up five Robert Palmer albums for £2.95. Not sure how useful this will be for people here but the first Fairport 5 Classic Albums and the Sandy Denny 5 Classic Albums box sets are £2.99 at HMV.

Chris Rea's "Blue Guitars" 11CD (+ 1 DVD) boxed set for £15, used but seemingly in good condition from a stall in Gloucester market. All disks appear OK to the naked eye. I've been thinking of getting this for some time - but not at the inflated prices I've seen on various sites. I nearly missed it - I was browsing the CD shelves and overheard a conversation between 2 young ladies and the chap looking after the stall - they were asking him whether "Driving Home for Christmas" was on the album; I assumed they were looking at an LP, but as I turned, I realised what they were holding. The chap didn't know, and as there's no track listing on the cover, they put it back. Cue swoop...
