I saw Kris as part of the David Crosby "If I could Only Remember My Name" gig at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall during Celtic Connections a few weeks ago.

And how was that? Smiley

It was a terrific night out, David, thanks for asking. The venue is very comfortable with great acoustics and a perfect view from pretty much anywhere. The musicianship was top notch, they really captured the feeling of the music of that time. Having said that, I have to admit that I didn't know the album, but I do now.

The second half was given over to other Crosby songs and I was almost in tears listening to these tunes that were such a big part of my late teens.

Sounds fab - I was tempted but just couldn't make it happen.  IICORMN is, I think, one of the greatest albums ever made...and, yes, ditto.

nugs.net is live streaming a tribute to Dickey Betts tomorrow night from Macon, Georgia, featuring all surviving members of the Allman Brothers Band, musical associates and family.

Here's the link: https://www.nugs.net/live-download-of-in-memory-of-dickey-betts-macon-city-auditorium-macon-ga-02-28-2025-mp3-flac-or-online-music-streaming/658-FREEWEBCAST.html

The guest list includes Jaimoe (last surviving original member), Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, Oteil Burbridge, Chuck Leavell, Lamar Williams Jr. (son of the Allmans' 1970s bassist), Devon Allman (son of Gregg), Duane Betts (son of Dickey), Jimmy Hall (Wet Willie, Jeff Beck) and Susan Tedeschi.

In addition, I highly recommend "The Brothers" CD that was released some years ago. It included most of the foregoing individuals, playing Allmans tunes with Warren Haynes channeling Gregg on lead vocals. Fabulous performance.

Friday, Rod the Mod with Cheap Trick at the Moody Center, Austin!

Looking forward to my second and presumably final Rod Stewart show. At 80, he’s got to be ready to hang up “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy.”

I'm seeing Andy Bell do a solo acoustic gig in a record shop in Coventry tomorrow.
That''s Andy Bell from Ride, not the chap from Erasure!

He can afford to put out his excellent solo albums - he'll have a nice big cheque from those Oasis boys shortly.

Tonight at the Empire Theater in San Antonio -

Kofi Baker and Malcolm Bruce “Sons of Cream.”

I saw them with Andy Johns about six years ago and they were great. Looking forward to it. They have a new guitarist I haven’t heard before.
