Waiting for this lovely stage in Aylesbury to be filled with Steve Hackett and Co.

Foxtrot at Fifty tonight, so lots of Hogweed to look forward to.

Cheers!

Enjoy! I’m looking forward to seeing this show at the other end of the tour in a month’s time at Hammersmith. It’s nice to see someone like him doing a proper tour covering a lot of the country.

Hah!
Apologies for the brain f**t there. I had every intention of writing about lots of Sky Watching to look forward to, except that I had to get up and move my beer so the couple next to me could squeeze into their seats. We said hello, sat down, and I referenced a song that's 51 years old instead of 50  Embarrassed

Anyway... It was brilliant!

Cheers

Ian Prowse and band in Leicester tonight, looking forward to this. Wonder if he'll play Raid the Palace?

Don't know if you've seen the dialogue on Facebook?  He showed a short clip of him rehearsing the song and one person kicked off saying it was disrespectful.  Was soon shut down, and Ian has promised to play the song with a little extra vim on the current dates.  Roll on Halifax!

Wednesday, Roxy Music's 50th Anniversary Tour, Moody Center, Austin!

I've seen Messr. Ferry a couple of times, but never before the Full Roxy.

I confess I'm not all that familiar with their catalog. They charted only a handful of times in the states ("Love is the Drug," "More Than This," a couple others), and their music doesn't pop up on classic rock radio at all. This is a "now or never" opportunity.

Opener is St. Vincent, who is having her moment right now. I'm as excited about the opportunity to see her.

On Prowsey's.  He put a clip up of a brief extract of a Raid The Palace rehearsal and was accused of being insensitive!

Off to see local lad Jim Causley on Thursday night. He's doing a series of gigs with a folklore expert, telling stories and singing songs. Should be interesting.

The Soundcarriers at The Carlton Club in Whalley Range, Manchester tonight. Can't wait for this, their first gig in more years than I can remember.

Rog (that's ranting Mr Waters to you) has 3 dates announced for next year...(I suspect they'll turn into multiple appearances at the venues but what do I know)

https://www.nme.com/news/music/roger-waters-announces-2023-uk-farewell-tour-3315833

Anybody know if there are any presales (and if so...)?

I'm at that Friars Aylesbury again, waiting for some more prog to start. This time, Marillion, who I used to come and watch here (well, in the Civic Centre, but still the Friars Aylesbuty. Its complicated) when they were babies.

I've not seen Marillion (outside of Cropredy) since 1990-ish. They have a lot more bongos on the stage than they used to have.

Cheers

Next week - three shows in three nights:

Roger Waters - October 6, Moody Center Austin.
Bonnie Raitt/Marc Cohn - October 7, Majestic Theater, San Antonio.
Doobie Brothers 50th Anniversary Tour with Michael McDonald - October 8, Tobin Center, San Antonio.

The planned weekend in beautiful San Antonio, Texas, with its scenic river walk, museums, 18th-century missions, and vibrant dining scene, may yet be derailed if we can't find a boarding or petsitting solution for our hyperactive young pup. Wish me luck!
