Bonnie Raitt with Marc Cohn, tonight, Moody Theater at ACL Live!

Our patience will be rewarded tonight. Bonnie had to postpone her October show in San Antonio due to a cold (not Covid thankfully). We returned those tickets and bought obscenely expensive after-market tickets to tonight's Austin show, which sold out months ago. She's one of our musical heroes; I first saw her live in 1998, but Mrs. J From A saw her in the early days. We will always come back to Bonnie.
Saw her supporting James Taylor a few years ago, blew me away. She’d be great at Cropredy…  Cheesy

That would give everyone something to talk about.  Smiley

I saw them at Otford (Kent) Hall a few months ago, they were excellent. Enjoy!

Was intending to book for Ryan Adams at Manchester Opera House this morning but £140 including fees for a pair of tickets is a bit too rich for me. Haven't missed a Ryan tour going back to Whiskeytown in '98 but I'm not paying that. Interesting that even several hours after the start of the pre-sale I could have still got front row stalls which would suggest they're hardly flying out.

I was toying with that (it must be legal to talk about Ryan again - phew) but, yeah - stupid prices.  He's not even bringing a band!  And I was complaining about the Waterboys being £50. As I seem to be saying about so many things on an almost daily basis, the economics don't make sense any more...

It's not long ago since I  saw them last , same venue in Osmington around June time . The village hall there has become a regular stop off when they are over in the UK  - I think this will be the 5th time we have seen them there,  twice as a quartet with their excellent percussionist Margaux - a rare treat!  There Xmas show is very creative and novel .

Cripes, 3 of them have been in there well over 2 decades, but it still doesn't feel quite right to me.  I'd be interested to hear what you think...

I drag Mike to prog so he drags me to 80's bands. Neither of us minds that much...  Grin

re Dr Feelgood , I'm usually quite scathing , as is Wilko , regarding the current line up

But to be honest , they put on a pretty decent show , so imagine it has nothing to do with the legendary line ups and you'll be fine
Still wish they had stuck with Pete Gage as the frontman and changed the band name
"From The Feelgoods" maybe ?

Chez Kane tomorrow in Blackpool!

Excellent! Be curious to hear your thoughts, afterwards.  Smiley

Fun evening.  2 guitars, bass and drums line up.  Around 75 minutes drawn from her two albums with Mr Big cover for an encore.  Chez was in great voice, and was happy to chat / sign afterwards.

Interesting that there is no keyboard player. Were they backing-tracked in? Regardless, it seems that it should be a great night. Cheers!

It was a lively evening. Relentless rock with a blues number thrown in, 80 minutes including encore with no break and goodnight. All done by 21:30. Since they don't have any gigs for the next 5 days I guess they're on the M4 going home as I type this.

Gordon Russell, their guitarist, was really the star of the show. Their singer, Robert Kane was enthusiastic but not on top form, we felt. Drummer Kevin Morris & bassist Phil H. Mitchell were both excellent.

Sort of. He was in the band 1983–1989, rejoining in 2021 after Steve Walwyn, who filled the gap, quit.

Oh, he'd have been the guitarist when I first saw them then....

In other news, sadly this week's John Cale gigs are all postponed due to a Covid outbreak..Friday's Liverpool gig is now on 6 Feb
