Heard her music for the first time recently when I picked up a CD copy of her Thank You For album. Really enjoyed it. Hope you enjoy the show!

Pretenders, Wednesday at ACL Live!
10CC, Saturday, same venue. Lots of unsold tickets for this one, sadly. It’s rare for bands of this vintage to venture down here and the lack of local interest shows why.

I've been bowled over by it. Looking forward to hearing some more. There are a couple of Cherry Red boxed sets that seem to be very good value.

Oysterband at Stroud Subscription Rooms Thursday 5th December.
Might go to the same venue to see African Head Charge in October and System 7 in November - yet to decide.

Yes there's a boxed set of the 3 Dandelion albums, and another box containing Jumblequeen (Chrysalis, 1974), Takethe5ifth, which was her 'lost album' , and unreleased material .

Tomorrow:
Deep Purple and Yes at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, Texas!
I saw Yes in 1984, 1991, and 2013. There are obviously huge differences in the lineups and material played at these shows. This will be my first Yes show since Chris Squire and Alan White left the building, but I am looking forward to hearing what Billy Sherwood and Jay Schellen bring to the table.
I saw Deep Purple once, in 2015, with the great Steve Morse. I look forward to hearing the new guy. I missed my best chance to see the intact Mark II lineup back in 1985, when they passed through Texas on the Perfect Strangers tour. Ritchie Blackmore is on my bucket list.
Next week - Barry Manilow!

I'll hopefully be seeing her at Towersey on Monday. She and Blair Dunlop are headlining that day. I'm looking forward to seeing Seth Lakeman at the festival doing his Kitty Jay album. Not seen him in ages. Also on the bill are Oysterband, The Staves and Billy Bragg. The weather forecast had been looking ok but now BBC Weather is showing quite a bit of rain on Saturday. At least the stages are all under cover.

Just noticed that Albion, the folk-rock/metal band founded by erstwhile Jethro Tull guitarist, Joe Parrish-James, are playing in Swansea on Saturday. Their debut album, Lakesongs Of Elbid, which was released in January, has been one my highlights of the year so I have high hopes that this will be an excellent night.

Who? Fancy a Tull guitarist not knowing that the name was already taken?

Who? Fancy a Tull guitarist not knowing that the name was already taken? Nirvana, Skid Row, Mr Big, Oasis, Show Of Hands yada yada. Many names get recycled. The important thing - for me, at least - is that their music is a lot of fun.

Tonight at the Moody Amphitheater in downtown Austin -
Squeeze! With Boy George opening!
This will be fun. The weather will be a cool 88F after two weeks of 100-plus.
