I know there's a few Wakeman fans here...

I'm in the Glasshouse and Just bought  a ticket 5 minutes ago.

It's usually better to buy in person - avoids online charges.

A smattering of shows coming up:

Blue Oyster Cult (Paramount February 17) - Bucket list show; I've somehow never seen them. BOC music makes me feel like I'm 14 again, in the best way
Sir Rod Stewart/Cheap Trick (Moody Center March 7) - Second time to see Sir Rod; he was great in Las Vegas a few years back.
Nitty Gritty Dirt Band/Rodney Crowell (ACL Live March 27) - Farewell tour for the NGDB; never seen them before and never will again, apparently
Sir Tom Jones (ACL Live May 7) - He is a great performer; this will be our third time to see him at this venue

11-year-old granddaughter just informed me that she wants me to escort her to Billy Idol/Joan Jett at the Moody Center in May(!)

I shall! I confidently predict we will hear Don't Fear the Reaper, Godzilla and Burnin' for You. I also predict Eric Bloom will play Stun Guitar.

U.K. and Ireland are going to get a dose of Doobie Brothers this summer, with Michael McDonald back as a full-fledged member. The Doobies will open for Jeff Lynne's ELO's final show at Hyde Park, as well. Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band will open U.S. shows later in the year, which is fun!

Tickets available Feb 14th, btw.
No idea how much...

I imagine we can guess.  Start at something approaching £150?

Ha! Yes, from the other direction!

I think it's worth noting that the Sabbath farewell show has got the most impressive line up of metal & hard rock performers in one place in the whole of my 61 years on this planet and, more importantly, none of them are taking a fee and all profits are going to very worthwhile charities.

Tickets will be gone before we can blink.

I'm inclined to agree actually, but as Steve says we know it will be full.  World's gone mad...most artists will be playing for about 10 mins max, including probably Sabbath.

Booked:

Paul Simon: A Quiet Celebration (Bass Concert Hall, Austin, April 8!

The Swell Season (Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova) (ACL Live, Austin, September 13! Appears to be sold out now.  Grin

Paul announced his retirement some years back, due in part to hearing loss. He says he has recovered sufficiently to play more intimate shows, presumably with a smaller band and lower stage volume. Tickets for three Austin shows went on sale today and aren't moving nearly as quickly as I would have expected. Front row seats go for $1,000 a pop. I was first in line at 10:00 a.m. and got decent tickets about nine rows back, so I'm not complaining. I predict sales will pick up closer to the dates.
