Chatter elsewhere on the net indicates that these are back in stock at Amazon and are dispatching today.

However multiple disc issues are now being reported. Certainly two of mine struggled to rip. Have not played them yet. Listening to disc 1 now.

Yes, it sounds as if they are playing catch-up.  I had the ‘delayed until October-November’ message yesterday and have heard nothing since.  However, yesterday the box set was listed as unavailable on Amazon’s website, but today it is on sale again, citing delivery dates of 18-22 September.  So, I am hoping to receive mine sometime next week.

I’ve still heard nothing, probably punishing me for daring to complain!

Be warned, there are many reports of audible defects with the discs and discs simply not reading in people's players. There seems to have been quite a substantial manufacturing screw up with this set.

I have got off lightly, only encountering one audible defect, a glitch in the last couple of seconds of disc 7 but I did have issues trying to rip two of the discs to my PC.

Tom Robinson's show on 6music last night featured a 40 min preview of the box set, playing 9 tracks introduced by Richard & Linda.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000mjgf

Part of me regrets not having pushed the 'order' button when Amazon dropped the price briefly a few weeks ago, but I hesitated already having much of the material.

It's a shame to hear of pressing/mastering problems with the release. It's mentioned again in a brief review under the discogs entry https://www.discogs.com/Richard-Linda-Thompson-Hard-Luck-Stories-1972-1982/release/15898038.

There's an enthusiastic review in Saturday's Guardian: https://www.theguardian.com/music/2020/sep/12/richard-and-linda-thompson-hard-luck-stories-1972-1982-review-box-set-31-unreleased-tracks

Mine's here too. Not aware of any faults yet.  I checked disc 7 first.

I’m guessing the timescale is too short, but could the unexpected delay have been caused by them checking if there had been a bad batch?

I would hope that they're that efficient, but I doubt that they are.

Everything playing OK so far. Haven't tried ripping yet.
And on the plus side, this is the very first time I've actively really enjoyed the First Light album. Sounds so much better than the old Rykodisc - it's like a whole other record.
