The auction says "A number of records in the Vinyl section are from the personal collection of Judy Dyble", though I know Jude had a significant CD collection and various cassettes too which I thought were to be included in the sale.

I've learned that this is just a first tranche of her collection. There are around 900 vinyl records in all and they're still sorting and valuing, and discovering new things in every cupboard and box. There will be further auctions along the way, including other things like HiFi and recording equipment (though the Autoharps will remain in the family.)

Look, can we just get to the matter of the cassettes as a matter of some urgency, please...  Wink Smiley

Given that she and Simon ran a cassette duplication business, who knows what may show up!

There's something poignant about a record collection being sold after a death. it's part of the life story of someone that now is being divided and perhaps loses the connection to the individual. I know memories of Jude are so much more precious but even so this touched me.

The estimates look considerably generous, the Dark Side Of The Moon LP for example sold at my local auction last week for £440.

Agreed, she is missed by all who knew her, either in life or on this forum where she was always the first to welcome new members. Rest in Peace Jude

Judy's family have issued a book featuring her characteristic humour ... https://burningshed.com/judy-dyble_louise-regan_deadly-dining_book   ... I'm sure some of her friends here will be interested.

It is a fab book, hilarious and I can just hear Jude’s voice as I read it.

The illustrations are fabulous too.

Even more poignant with the knowledge that Dave Longdon would only be with us for a short while after.
