Has Benji left the band? He's touring with Seth Lakeman and didn't show up for Steeleye's local (to me) gig recently, although he was featured on the poster.

I haven't read anything official.

Apparently he's missing this tour for "personal reasons", according to the discussion group on Facebook.

It must be awkward for any musicians who play with multiple others at the moment, when all the bands are wanting to be out there at the same time!  Steeleye are also on the second fiddler of the tour as well, as Violeta could only commit to the first part due to other commitments.

Benji is definitely on tour with Seth at the moment, there was a photo of him on Facebook leaning against the rather impressive tour bus (no dodgy transit for them!  Cheesy)

Yes, Wendy saw them at Carmarthen last night when a friend offered her a ticket due to someone dropping out.

Lucky Wendy! I wish he was coming a bit nearer to Cardiff.

Benji has now left the band officially. No reasons given. I'm guessing because of his new Seth Lakeman commitments and the commercials of Steeleye being a 7 piece band this day in age.
The last tour was brilliant without him so whilst his contributions were great I can't see it having a big impact in my view.

Benji is on the road this week with Faustus. We're planning on going to their gig at Helmshore on Friday.
