Picking up CD's at the local charity shops is beginning to cause a little friction at home as I apparently already have enough.
I believe that may have been said in this house too (not by me, of course!).

Having a Queen day and I'm up to News of the World with a slight detour with the At The Beeb release from '89. That is one of the rare times where I can remember where I bought the album. I was living in Muswell Hill and found that cd at a little record shop on Fortis Green Road.
This was back in the days when Fairport was just a name I'd read about. It was to be a couple of years later that a friend included Matty Groves and Sir Patrick Spence on a mix tape.

The Mary Wallopers. Struggling to see what all the fuss is about, although I imagine that they could be interesting live, especially after a few snifters.
I saw them in summer, supporting the mighty Saw Doctors. They were ok, nothing more, quite enthusiastic. Probably better server in a small venue rather than an 8000 capacity outdoor arena. I hadn't realised there is a fuss about them.

Not for me, but for just as much Paddy but less whackery, I'm thoroughly enjoying the oddly titled "the d between the r and the l" by A Lazarus Soul.

Grateful Dead - Zenith, Paris 28/10/90 from "30 Trips Around The Sun". Thirty three years on since my last Dead show. Still good.

"One World" John Martyn Finally bought the 2 disc version , with alternate takes, for a reasonable sum off ebay , arrived yesterday Trouble is I've avoided the 2 disc all these years knowing how good the one disc is as a standalone album...

Grateful Dead “Wake of the Flood” 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition.
Extremely clear remastering, but I can still hear Donna Godchaux 😂

A great JM album. There's also a sort of 'artist's cut' double CD on One World label which is interesting. It's called Another World.

Not overly impressed, I wasn’t particularly impressed by real love and free as a bird. It’s a bit mawkish like the other two but John could err on the mawkish side I’ll see if it grows on me because it’s never going to be off the air for a while, after all the hype surrounding it. Peace and love

Having watched the video about it on the One Show last night it has more meaning, its history is fascinating for anyone that remembers the announcement on the radio when John was murdered in 1980.
