With just a few short weeks to go until the long awaited party in our field….
Has anyone thought about this year’s TOAST?
There are lots of people absent now… 😥

Yes . I think Toast is usual time , usual place, usual day ,usual charity , usual terrible attire and usual horrible tipple ( to be first tasted by the bringer before it’s distributed amongst the poor unsuspecting).

How to remain safe from Pastie’s awful “jokes”.

Perhaps PB could do the toast from inside a box. He could write on a piece of paper and post it out.

I 'm unsure... the toast IS important but some concoctions are terrible some are not so terrible and some are unbelievably terrible.. May I suggest (cap in hand ) that PBs joke mirror the grades of taste so Pastieboy IS the ideal Master of ceremonies for this occasion. I second Jenny's suggestion Fez  Tiara

The main thing I'm thinking about is "Do not overindulge like I did last time & end up completely bladdered"  Embarrassed

I introduced my good friend Rob to the Toast in 2019.  He's been to Cropredy a few times, sometimes with me & sometimes with the added safety of his wife but nothing (not even me!) prepared him for the toast but I had mentioned that the natives were (relatively!) friendly  and that some of the brews would be 'interesting'.  After commencing the quaffing of pints at lunchtime at The Brasenose & The Red Lion as is customary, we carried on merrily in the field until the appointed hour.  Rob participated with gusto!  The end result was that he caught the start of Fairport's set & then said he  might need a lie-down for a few mins.
Becoming somewhat geographically challenged he still hadn't found our tent (field 4) by the time I ambled back at close of play around 1am....
He still can't remember what happened/how he eventually found the tent in the early hours...
Rob will be accompanying me again this year - neither of our wife/partners will be joining us - so I've bought him a compass and a map of Cropredy and told him to be a good boy and not talk to strangers...

See you there!

Cheers,

Slippy

My 2022 brew was initially designed to be called The yellow stuff , but as it matures it seems to be renaming itself The Green Stuff..

After 2 years of my Stuff accidentally and disappointingly  turning out pleasant,  I hope to do better this time.

I would encourage anyone participating that has a smartphone to download the free app "What3Words". You can then store the location of your tent to within a 9ft square and navigate to it using your phone.

If you can read the screen at that point.
