An Sasanach is fearr in Eirinn

Apologies if this has been mentioned but I haven't seen it and can't find it on search. On the strength of having got the above-mentioned book for Christmas, I got an email yesterday as follows:

Hello.
As a purchaser of Gonna See All My Friends, I thought you might like to know that Simon and Peggy liked the book so much that they've asked me to start work on Volume 2. This will be coming out next year, and whether or not you contributed a story to the first book, I'd love to hear from you at fairportfanbook@gmail.com if you have a Fairport memory you'd like to share.

So, if anyone's interested.. (I love the first book BTW)

Or maybe people are having a think about emailing their stories.

I have a copy of the book (with my contribution inside).  It's in a sort of chronological order, but you don't have to follow it strictly, as it's the kind of book you can dip into. It's interesting to read the contrasting stories from fans.

I have the book (and have a page and 2 photos in it) but although I know plenty of Fairporters, I recognise very few names. Perhaps I don't know their real names.

I also have the book & my contribution is in there (under the heading 'Empire Theatre Edinburgh, 28 August 1973').

I found the book really well put together & as mickf says above it's great to dip into & interesting to read the many tales from fans through all generations & iterations of the band.  Reading through it gave me the feeling of being part of an extended Fairport family.

I received it for Christmas from my good man. It’s nice seeing TAW people actually specifying where their contributions can be found-makes it all more meaningful.

I love the randomness of it - so many just normal folk with wildly disparate individual tales, all linked by the common theme of the Fairport "family". I might sneak into the next one myself...

One way to look at this, but no one is forced to contribute nott to buy it.

I will though 😁

I probably will, too, but had just initially assumed it to be a one-off ...was just joking, not  intending to sound unkind  Embarrassed  It’s good cross referencing TAWers like I mentioned, so hope the thread carries on once it is out.

I didn't write anything for the first one, but got a copy, and on reading it through kept wishing I had, so I probably will send something in for Vol 2.  Just need to find the time to marshall my memories and write them down!
