Trowbridge Festival

this happened weekend just gone so I appreciate this isnt any use for 2023, but I am assured it will be on again in 2024 so here is ~51 weeks advance warning :-)

TF had been off the cards for 5 years for various reasons, but was resurrected this year - I can't comment/dont know if it has much connection with its previous organisers etc.

The lineup over the weekend was excellent, advance weekend, tickets ~£100 including camping, last minute £125, and day tickets (when they got released etc) £55 a day.

Two stages, two food venues, some stalls etc, a kids area/bell tent.  maybe 1000 people?

I visited the re-born Trowbridge festival as a day-tripper just for the Saturday.

Certainly much reduced in size (site capacity - incl. all performers, stewards, traders, ... was just 500, I read somewhere) but very good quality sound and good bands. I enjoyed Merry Hell, Lost Trades and 3 Daft Monkeys amongst others. Catering was certainly limited: a good bar (Kettlesmith's Brewery from nearby Bradford on Avon), a coffee van, and two food stalls - one of which didn't open until mid-afternoon.

It was well-attended on the Saturday (with excellent sunny weather) -- I don't know how well it fared on the rather wetter Sunday.

There was at least some cross-over in the organising team with previous events. I've steward-ed at half-a-dozen of the festival's previous incarnations, and will consider doing so again in future years.

Ive been told a 3rd food outlet was supposed to be there - but just never turned up!
the Thai food stall that didnt open until gone two was really nice food - but I agree its a bit odd to open so "late" .

The bar provision I thought was excellent, and shows what CAN be done rather than just throw doombar and thatchers on....

I had a really nice sweet'n'sour from the Thai place in the evening, and an equally good burger from the Airstream van (a regular around Melksham) at lunchtime.

similar here :-)  I never normally "do" burgers but it was really really good.  And well priced as well complete with some chips :-)

Yeah, it’s like that **** Eddy Festival .Almost 30 yrs I went to that. Never saw Eddy.
