A 9oth birthday program for Nana Mouskouri on Sunday featuring The Spinners for 3 1/2 songs.  I still identify The Spinners with going to my concerts with my Mum. The Spinners, The Houghton Weavers & The Fivepenny Piece. Three singularly uncool bands, but without them I would have no love of folk music. Brought a tear to this old man's eye!  I won't be deleting it from the hard drive for a while!!

Strange you should mention the spinners. They were my gateway band into folk too. I remember watching their TV show when I was a kid.

Same. Loved them as a kid.

Far too uncool for me at the time. However I saw Hughie Jones solo at FolkEast a few years ago and really enjoyed his set.
