I'm surprised that anyone would cover such a personal and autobiographic song.

I first heard it during a screening of Ronaldo & Clara in about 1982. That is where my love of Joanie began.

Say what you like about that movie (and many people have), it had some fantastic music.

My real-life world is full of people saying "I was just flicking through the channels when this Carole King thing came on..." and it is indeed terrific, although what a hundred thousand people in Central Park made of the "...and now we're going to play the new album" is anyone's guess. Incredible stroke of fortune regarding the weather - given the staging of the event - and in the preamble I learned that of course that is Joni Mitchell on BVs on Will You Love Me Tomorrow? Like Mick Jagger on You're So Vain, once you hear it, it's blindingly obvious! Every day's a learning day.  Cheesy

Head's up for this evening - 9pm on BBC4 there's a broadcast of a concert by Calan (Welsh folk band) with an orchestra.

Agreed. But good to see them getting some national TV exposure.
