I'm convinced that Peggy played drums live on one song in the late 80s, while DM played keyboards. But others say I'm making it up.
Anyone remember this and which song it was?

Yes I think you're right Secondspur.  And Simon played fiddle and threw his bow onto the drumkit at the end. Cheesy

ISTR Hiring Fair in its earlier performances as well, but could be wrong - certainly DM keyboards.

Simon said somewhere that in Bridge over the river Ash he played "rythm viola"!

Quite right, Paolo. Certainly at St Albans on a Winter Tour five or six years ago he said '25 years as a professional musician and I end up as rythm viola' The performance also spawned a rash of viola player jokes.

When Fairport toured Germany in May1991 Dave Pegg played drums on Over The Lancashire Hills. Have a look on my website: www.foreveryoung-germany.de/html/pegg.htm

I have a BBC broadcast of the Full House line-up doing BRIDGE.  The DJ states that Richard plays the cymbals or cow bell...........or something.  I wonder if that's the REAL reason he left the band! Wink
